1860 Legacy Foundation - Mpumalanga Chapter
The 1860 Legacy Foundation - Mpumalanga branch was established on the 15th of September 2010. The role of 1860 Legacy Foundation is to be viewed in the context of non racialism and equity which are the basic tenets of the South African constitution. The 1860 Legacy Foundation was established in Kwa-Zulu Natal to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the arrival of Indians in South Africa. A national committee was established in Durban. Mr. Padayachee was contacted by Mr. Jody Kolapan and Mr. Shan Bolton to organize a similar organization in Mpumalanga. The Foundation is to work closely with the Indian communities in South Africa to celebrate their heritage and contributions. Cross cultural and inter religious activities should form part of the celebrations in hte province of Mpumalanga.
